Two-hundred-second EP

by Invalids

supported by
Stephen Mlinarcik
Stephen Mlinarcik thumbnail
Stephen Mlinarcik Confining himself to the very literal title of the project, what Invalids normally does in long form is here condensed to it's necessity, and illustrates Pete Davis' ability to craft a potent and evocative experience in just a matter of seconds. It's a head-spinning burst of sonic expression that demands little of your time, and a lot of your heart. Favorite track: Last Floor.

luca vincent every note is perfectly placed to create a perfect 200 seconds Favorite track: Cancellation Protocol.
Tischwürze thumbnail
Tischwürze excellent drumming, playful guitars, beautiful vocal melodies.
the shortness of each and every song is killing me cause they are all so amazing. Favorite track: Sixty-eight Degrees at Sundown.
reasonablesaxophone thumbnail
reasonablesaxophone The fun invalids insanity, but in bite-sized little tastes. Entire EP has a nice feel that is joyful to listen to Favorite track: Last Floor.

The echo while leaving didn't mean a thing Functional parity The poles of the playground at night Were much colder than you thought they'd be Surprised by the echo leaving Both surprised the other showed
Struggling in distinguishing The difference between Pity and sympathy Oh what does that even mean? Defenseless in (and seldom since) Our severances, sincerely, someday soon, Hope that means something, too
I worked on listening when I was listening Dull collation Stands to reason there'd be something better Solvent brevity We, all by ourselves, Pieced it together there was nothing That, by its structure, had to happen I worked on having something then, that happened You hadn't said a thing
Last Floor 00:34
Thought you were faking it When you collapsed Holding your ankle At my house on the trampoline Waited for your dad to come pick you up And I felt bad The likelihood of your deception, It was the last exchange we ever had
When did each breath start to matter? More for the vacuum When did we stop turning over? Hands on a shoulder A morning sun will come To spite hollow molting Asynchronicity Where did our habits go? Where, but its half-lit glow?

This was a quick project to both a) have something to co-release with the digitals of Top Secret Area EP as a reward for waiting on a non-cassette release, and b) exercise writing within the confines of concisety. Also I went on a nostalgia trip recently with Short Music for Short People and it couldn't be helped!

The instrumental versions are included as bonus tracks, as well as the artwork for the instrumental version. Please keep them as separate entities!
